On August 11, 2023, the world lost a truly remarkable soul, Elizabeth Anne Brown, better known as Lizzy.
Born on July 22, 1981, in Bournemouth, England, to Mike and Marilyn Minihane, she was a shining light that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lizzy, the youngest of three sisters, which included Sarah and Alicia.
At the tender age of 2, Lizzy's family embarked on a journey across the ocean to the US. She lived briefly in Houston, Texas, before settling down in the warmth of Southern California. It was there that Lizzy's vibrant spirit truly came to life, casting her unique radiance upon every life she encountered.
From an early age, it was evident that Lizzy was no ordinary soul. Effervescent, charismatic, and brimming with cheekiness, she had an uncanny ability to stand out in any crowd. Her smile was infectious, and her presence would light up the room. With a simple, "Yeah, come on," she could weave her charm and convince you to join her in any adventure.
Lizzy was the embodiment of joy and exuberance, the life of every gathering. Her magnetic personality drew people to her, and her kindness and caring nature ensured that those around her felt valued and cherished. Deeply loyal and fiercely loving, Lizzy held her close friends and family in the highest regard. She was raised in an environment of boundless love and care, and she carried these values with her throughout her life.
Lizzy's journey of education led her to the University of Arizona, where she graduated early with honors. Her career in sales followed that of her fathers. Starting as an intern with her father in international franchising, then into commercial real estate at CBRE in AZ, and ultimately with Bulldog Gin when she left the west coast for NY in 2006. Her career was marked by resounding success throughout. Yet, her true calling and ultimate fulfillment lay in the nurturing embrace of creating a family and the joys of motherhood.
Shortly after moving to New York, she met and fell in love with her husband Michael N. Brown. They met in true “Lizzy” style while she was out summering in the Hamptons in 2007. They were married shortly thereafter in Central park in the fall of2009. Lizzy then embraced her most cherished role as a mother with the arrival of her first child “little” Michael in 2010. Lizzy's heart further expanded with the arrival her second child Bailey in 2013.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Lizzy, let us remember the laughter she shared, the love she gave, and the indomitable spirit that made her a beacon of light.
Lizzy's physical presence may have departed, but her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the hearts she uplifted, and the memories she etched into our souls.
She will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered.
